The world’s best professional 9-ball players are currently competing in the 2009 China Open 9-ball tournament.

The tournament, which is part of the new WPA World Tour, features World number 1, Ralf Souquet plus the reigning 9-ball and 10-ball World Champions in Daryl Peach and Darren Appleton.

Ricky Yang the winner of the first WPA ranking event earlier this month in the Philippines is seeded 11th for this event and will obviously be looking to capitalise on the form he had in the Philippines recently when he defeated Jeff de Ricky YangLuna 11-4.

Other than the two world champions already mentioned the UK has a further two entries in Karl Boyes and Craig Osborne. Both players have won their first UK ranking events within the last 3 months and Karl has been showing some excellent form since being taken on by a new manager. Both of them could be dangerous.
