The Philippines’ Efren “Bata” Reyes and Rubilen Amit broke out of a seven-all deadlock and turned back Team Korea’s Charlie Williams and Park Eun Ji, 9-7, in a thrilling showdown in the 2009 World Mixed Doubles Classic at the Nuvo City Lifestyle Center in Libis, Quezon City last night. Bata, Amit set World Mixed Doubles title duel with Koreans

The Philippines’ Efren “Bata” Reyes and Rubilen Amit played a near-flawless game this time as they overpowered Team Europe’s Mika Immonen of Finland and Borana Andoni of Albania, 7-1, yesterday to arrange a title showdown with Team Korea in the 2009 World Mixed Doubles Classic at the Nuvo City Lifestyle Center in Libis, Quezon City.

Mika Immonen Wins World 10-ball Title

The 2009 US Open Champion, Mika Immonen, has continued his astonishing few months by lifting the World Ten Ball Championships in Manila today.
In the final ‘The Iceman’ defeated Lee Van Corteza of the Philippines 11-6 to take the crown.
Earlier in the day Immonen booked his place in the final with a 9-7 victory over Antonio Lining, Corteza defeated Spaniard Davud Alcaide by the same scoreline.

128 Becomes 64 at World Ten Ball Championships

After three hard days of play the final field of 64 has now been determined. Thirty-two of these players are thus far undefeated and will be seeded into the final brackets according to their performance up to this point. The other 32 players are subjected to a blind draw to determine whom they will face in the matches tomorrow.
There will be many exciting matches on Saturday. Filipino hotshot Jericho Banares will play Thorsten Hohmann on the first TV match of the day. Other TV matches will feature Lee Van Corteza …

World 10 Ball Pool Championships Underway

Some big names have hit the bricks at the WPA World Ten Ball Championships in Manila. Ralf Souquet of Germany is now on the one-loss side after dropping his first match 9-6 to Thomasz Kaplan of Poland. He is joined there by Shane Van Boening of the USA, Jeff De Luna of the Philippines, and Ronnie Alcano of the Philippines. Van Boening lost 9-8 to Nguyen Anh Tuan of Viet Nam, and Alcano lost 9-7 to Dang Jin-Hu of China.

Alcaide Wins Predator 10-ball Tour in Portugal

David Alcaide of  Spain has taken the title of the first Predator International 10-Ball tour. Alcaide played flawless pool in the final match against Niels Feijen of the Netherlands. Tied after the first two racks, Alcaide then took control of the match and never let Feijen have any opportunity to make a comeback. Alcaide took racks 3, 4, 5 and 6 to mount a four-game lead, then surrendered what would be Feijens final 10-Ball in rack number 7. Final Four Set for Semi Finals

The first final four match-up at the Predator International 10-Ball Tour featured two men who have faced one another across the Baize many times. Niels Feijen and Marcus Chamat met in a match that belonged to Feijen most of the way. Feijen began by putting a 4-pack on Chamat so that he was halfway home to the magic number of eight racks before Chamat ever left the gate.

Final Eight Match Ups Decided in Portugal

The Great Eight met this morning in Anadia, Portugal at the Predator International 10-Ball event to determine the make-up of the Final Four. Current World Ten Ball Champion Darren Appleton ran headlong into the big Dutch truck, Niels Feijen. Feijen was not in the mood to leave the competition and quickly moved into the lead that he would never relinquish.
