Antony Doble, picture from Facebook.Saturday 4th September will see Bristol’s IPA Tour regular Antony Doble take on Somerset’s 42-year-old Terry Humphreys in a £6,000 per man money match.

The game is being shown live on pay-per-view with Cuesport TV for the meagre price of just £3.00. Action starts at 7:30pm and will be a first to 21 frame affair.

Doble is the more recognisable name of the two players having won a number of big events over the past year including an 8-ball Super Tour event victory in Keynsham in late 2009. However, Cuesportnews.com have been informed that this will be Doble’s first major money match. Nothing like jumping in at the deep end with a £6,000 entry fee and an away crowd to contend with!

Many people from within the playing community feel that Antony has the game to easily win this match, especially playing in front of TV camera’s, something he did a few times whilst on the 8-Ball Super Tour last year. It is important though to not right off his opponent.

Terry Humphreys is a former main tour player going back about 15 years ago, he kind of drifted away from the game and tournament play but does now get his cue out for the occasional money match. He has recently played and beaten Max Nosko and Josh Corkett, two very able youngsters, but the step up to Antony Doble is quite a big one. One major advantage for Humphreys will be the home crowd packed into the newly refurbished BreaknDish Pool Club in Street, Somerset.

Whatever the outcome an exciting match is expected as both players favour an attacking game over safety play. If it does get a bit negative then perhaps the experience of Humphreys will be the telling factor, however, if the game is open expect Antony to be on top right from the start.

Cuesportnews.com Prediction: Antony Doble 21-12 Terry Humphreys
