World number 1, Ralf Souquet will be the European team captain for the forthcoming Europe vs Asia 9-ball team championships scheduled for 7th-9th August in Brunei.

The event which will feature two four player teams carries $45000 in prize money. Already announced as representing Europe are Ralf Souquet, Niels Feijen, Darren Appleton and Ruslan Chinahov. Asia have so far announced two players, Yang Ching-Shun and Ko Pin Yi.

The tournament, which is sanctioned by both the World Pool Association and the Asian Pocket Billiard Union, is organised in a joint effort between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Brunei Darussalam Cue Sport Association.

Interestingly for pool the event is sponsored by a non-industry sponsor in GHK Motors Sdn Slid.
