Shaun Murphy, courtesy Matchroom SportShaun Murphy finally put his Premier League campaign on track last night as he got into winning ways with a 5-1 demolition job of Hong Kong’s Marco Fu.

It was Fu that drew first blood in taking the first frame but Murphy, the 2005 World Champion, then bounced straight back and took all 5 of the remaining frames.

The two highlights came in the 4th and 5th frames. When on a score of 105 Murphy failed to pot the 14th black in succession which put an end to his 147 chance. He backed this up however with a 134 break in the next frame before wrapping up the match which breaks of 62 and 30 in the final frame.

The win moves Murphy off bottom spot in the league and he is replaced by Marco Fu who has looked to be struggling all season. The Hong Kong player has only picked up one point so far this season from 4 of his 7 scheduled matches.

In the other match Ronnie O’Sullivan got the point required to stay on top of the league table. His 3-3 draw with Stephen Hendry means that ‘The Rocket’ remains unbeaten in this years tournament with two wins and two draws. In gaining a point Hendry moves back into the mix for a playoff place, the Scot now lies in second place.
