After the success of the first two Money Match TV series events, host webcaster, Cuesport TV have decided to move the series to a pay-per-view format.

The series is a monthly offering of four high quality Challenge Matches with minimum entry fee’s of £500-per-man. So far the first two events have featured Darren Appleton, Ben Moore, Craig Dixon, Lee Rigby, Aslam Abubaker, Tony Southern, Simon D’Vali, Dave Bagg, Jamie Yates, Jason Devanney, Chun Hao Man and Jonny Cooper. All players feature on the GB 9 Ball Tour, with the exception of Lee Rigby who is the current Tournament Director.

“Players going head-to-head over a race-to-21 rack distance is what sets these events apart from regular tournament play. The added pressure of playing for money adds to the appeal for both the players and the spectators.” Said Pete Williams Managaing Director of Cuesport TV Ltd.

“This series of events has had more appeal to the mid-level player looking to develop and seeing these matches as a big opportunity to step up. This in itself has had a big effect on our viewers. The last event went out to over 700 viewers online for the full days play. Now we are looking to recoup some of the money invested in the series by offering the matches on a pay-per-view format.” He continued.

Money Match TV 3, which takes place on the 21st August from 1pm UK time, will carry a small charge of £2.95 to view the whole days play. This gives the viewer access to two race-to-21 9 Ball Pool challenge matches, lasting approximately 6 hours with a session time at 1pm and 5pm.

Cuesport TV will still continue to offer it’s video on demand service for free and these matches will be available sometime in late September to those viewers not wishing or unavailable to view them live.

Money Match TV 3 will feature Lee Rigby versus Brett Armer followed by Dave Nelson versus Ben Finch on the TV table. On the outside table will be Jamie Yates versus Lee Brett and Craig Dixon versus Gary Anderson.

Money Match TV is the brainchild of Andy Appleton, owner of Vegas Sports Bar in Wakefield. Andy played in some challenge matches organised by another promoter in 2009, these were not continued and Andy stepped in to takeover. The idea behind the series is that the winner of each match ‘stays on’ they are then matches with a similar opponent using a rating system, if an opponent of the same rating cannot be found then handicaps are awarded through discussion with opponents.
