Chinese wildcard Li Hang has certainly shown his ability as the only player to win three matches on day 1 of the Wuzhou International Group Jiangsu Classic.

Li had his debut professional season during the last World Ranking campaign and bested 2008 Jiangsu Classic winner, and fellow Chinese, Ding Junhui, 2-1. He continued this with two more victories by the same scoreline over former World Champion, Peter Ebdon and Welshman Ryan Day.

Also featuring in group 1 is Stephen Hendry, he had a poor first day and after two losses looks unlikely to qualify for the knockout stages. Hendry lost to both Ding Junhui and Mark Allen.

In group 2, Mark Selby and Shaun Murphy both had two victories and look in good shape to progress to the semi finals.
