Barry HawkinsDartford’s Barry Hawkins has won the latest Pro Challenge Series event in Liverpool with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Michael Holt in the final.

The event held at the George Scott Snooker Club featured 39 players from the pro circuit battling it out over four days for the £5,000 first prize.

On his way to the final Hawkins, 30, defeated Adrian Gunnell in a match he was fast to admit that perhaps he didn’t deserve to win. The 5-4 victory though in the semi-finals set up the match against Holt.

In the final Hawkins produced by far the better snooker and ended the match with a century and four further breaks over 50.

This win is the second of his professional career after he won the Masters Qualifying event in 2007. The win will also boost his confidence going into the World Championship qualifiers next month.
