David Morris, the President of the Great Britain Pool Association, has announced the first details of a brand new project that could have long-term rewards for American Pool in the UK.

A partnership has been struck with German manufacturer Dynamic Billiards that will see pool tables making their way into our schools.

The full details of the project have not yet been announced but the pedigree of Dynamic Billiards as a sponsor is not to be denied. They are already the official supplier of tables to the EPBF Eurotour and other major tournaments throughout Europe. They are backing this project with their 7ft range of Eliminator Tables pictured above.

David Morris said, “Part of what the GBPA intends to do, is work to try and get pool tables into schools. We are an Olympic sport and our children should be able to practice an Olympic sport within their school.

“Give children a hobby at school and they are more likely to continue that hobby after school and at weekend’s.”

Pool billiards, or as we know it, American Pool is actually affiliated to the International Olympic Committee through the WPA, as yet there is no indication that the sport will become a fully fledged Olympic discipline, however, it has been featured in the IOC World Games since the 1990′s.
