Former World Champions Set for PTC Clash

Peter EbdonThe 2002 and 2005 World Champions, Peter Ebdon and Shaun Murphy is the pick of the first round proper at the next PTC snooker event starting on Thursday.

The two former Crucible champions will meet in the round of 128 in Sheffield, the first round proper after both players manages to miss the preliminary round.

The event that runs from July 8th – 11th at the World Snooker Academy will also feature a tough first round tie for event 1 winner Mark Williams, the Welshman faces Michael Holt who had a reasonable run in PTC 1 last week.

Reanne Evans the multiple WLBSA and IBSF Womens World Champion will make her professional debut in Sheffield and will play Liu Chuang of China.

Tony Drago will also make his PTC debut as he makes the trip back from the WPA World 9-ball Championships in Qatar this week, Drago amongst some of the other lower ranked players, will certainly see the benefot of the new PTC events and ranking structure in terms of the points that can be gained.
