Down to the Final Four in Qatar
So then, we have reached the final four in Qatar and these four pool playing athletes will be feeling nervous and no doubt confident of getting the task done and becoming the first WPA World 9-ball Champion since 2007.
The semi finals of this championship is some what of an anomaly over recent years with not one European player reaching the last four.
In fact the last European standing was Serbia’s Sandor Tot who lost out to Johnny Archer 11-6.
The American, the only former champion still in the field, has quietly been going about his business and is now only two matches away from taking the title back to the USA.
He will face a very tough test though as he comes up against Kuo Po Chen of Chinese Taipei, a finalist of this event a few years back.
Another of the semi-finalists is people’s champion Francisco Bustamante. The sheer genius of this Filipino player has yet to lift a WPA World title and this year he will hope is his. Bustamante will play compatriat Antonio Lining in the last four.
Matches are available live on Alkass via this link: Alkass Live Stream. The scheduled times are 3pm and 7pm local time which is 1pm and 5pm UK time.
Semi Finals:
Francisco Bustamante (PHI) v Antonio Lining (PHI
Johnny Archer (USA) v Kuo Po Chen (TAI)
