9-ball: GB9 Tour Stop 3 Preview
17th and 18th July is the two dates to look out for as the GB9 Ball Tour heads back into full swing.
The third stop of the 2010 season will see the players and fans travel to Barcelo Hotel, Daventry for the British Grand Prix. Defending Champion Darren Appleton will be in attendance and after a season that has so far not reached his very high standards he will be looking to get this one in the bag.
Mark Gray will also be gunning for his fourth straight GB 9 Ball Tour main event title and will offer some stiff competition as the former snooker professional seems to revel in the format of the GB 9 Ball Tour.
Appleton and Gray will be joined by the two in-form British players this season in Daryl Peach and new European number 1, Karl Boyes. Peach has already won a Eurotour title this season and Boyes has won the World 8-ball title and most recently the Austria Open (his first European Tour victory).
Other than the main event there is also the Pro Cup and Challenge Cup events on Saturday that conclude with the finals around 6pm. Players to look out for in the Pro Cup (other than those mentioned above) will be Imran Majid, Jayson Shaw, Chris Melling and Scott Higgins. The Challenge Cup is probably the most difficult event to predict a winner this year with the likes of Stewart Colclough, Chris Cowie, Ben Moore, Ben Finch, Andy Appleton, Shane Appleton and more all performing very well.
You can watch all of the action live at Cuesport TV from 11am on Saturday.
Please have your say on the potential winners this weekend below.
